The need for ice to ship produce to markets grew continually since the 1930’s. During this growth it was here that ubiquitous clear ice and bag ice was invented. Today the structure is repurposed into a mixed-use venue playing off the Farmers Market and many downtown attractions. The residents combine the simplicity of the thick concrete floors and 10 foot high ceilings with unique concrete columns. LED lighting, mini-split HVAC, steampunk fixtures and high end appliances make the most of the interior space. The expectations of trash chutes, Wi-Fi and video entry access controls along with superior sound-proofing have been delivered.
